- Nose
- Restrained. Fruity. Apple and pear pie. Cider cellar. Vanilla slowly emerges, bringing out sweeter notes. Touch of floor polish.
- Palate
- Sweet and surprisingly watery at midpalate. Oak and fruit are well integrated though. Summer fruit. Vanilla biscuits. Dusty.
- Finish
- Dry, spicy, dusty.
- Comment
- Soft and smooth whisky which seems tired. Not particularly exciting.

- Nose
- Smoke again, this time with briny notes and plain oak (almond, pine). There is also real weight behind this. Subtly perfumed mixing heavy flowers with soft/semi dried fruits and hints of cocoa.
- Palate
- An excellent spread of flavours: cooked apple, fresh apricot, toasted nuts, madeleines, tickle of smoke and a waxy depth.
- Finish
- Smoked vanilla pod.
- Comment
- Flawless, sweet, dry, deep, light, smoke, flowers, cream, toasty oak. Elegant.
