Dave Broom
75- Nose
- Smoky and quite dry with a hint of rubber suggesting youth. Underneath this is a subtle perfume: moist banana, cumin powder.
- Palate
- Oak and smoke but there's dried peel, crème brûlée, orange peel and tropical fruit in the centre. Youth showing still.
- Finish
- Light smoke.
- Comment
- Not Yoichi at its most full-blooded and a little gawky but worth a look.

87- Nose
- Intense. Intricate bouquet of wood notes. Sandalwood, floor polish. Antique shop. Elegantly combined with floral aromas (rosehip, freesia). Sweeter notes break through. Toffee. Liquorice.
- Palate
- Smooth, round and delicate. Perfect balance between wood, fruit and spices.
- Finish
- Soothing on dried fruit and nuts.
- Comment
- A superb combination of fruit and oak, so well integrated.
