Single Grain - Scotland - 48.00% 8 The balance between sweet and sour is perfect. A grain whisky? I would have thought of an old bourbon.

Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 This example has stood up to its 32 years in the cask very well. A good example of how supple an old Glenlivet can be.

Single Malt - Scotland - 50.80% 7 An old fellow on the edge of declining but with attractive sweet richness. No water, please!

Single Malt - Scotland - 55.60% 7 Lacks roundness, structure, balance. I was sorry to hear that this distillery has been closed. Temporarily?

Old Malt Cask Clynelish 1971, 30 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 50.00% 7 There's more in the nose than in the finish. A really characterful malt. Interesting. This is one of the more medicinal expressions of Clynelish I have come across.

- Scotland - 46.00% 7 A little cramped on the palate but has personality.

The Glenrothes 1971
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 8 I have always felt that Glenrothes deserved to be more widely appreciated and this bottling confirms that opinion. It is on the sweet side, but beautifully rounded. A sophisticated afterdinner malt.
