The evening took guests on a journey through time, allowing them to enjoy the splendours of The Balvenie DoubleWood collection, now in its 25th year. The tasting took place under the stars of the Greenwich Observatory, looking up to the night sky over The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown.
The evening’s journey culminated in an exciting announcement, signalling a moment of change for Balvenie, with the appointment of new apprentice malt master, Kelsey McKechnie.
Having worked her way up through the ranks within the William Grant family during the past four years, Kelsey has proved to be the perfect candidate to become his successor at some point in the future.
David explained: “Kelsey was the obvious choice for this role, not many people have the kind of experience that she has… she had all the right training and the perfect attributes for this role, so it made it an incredibly easy decision.
“I’ve had many conversations with Brian Kinsman, The Balvenie master blender during the last few weeks and months and he had no hesitation in recommending Kelsey.”
