Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery has announced its inaugural single malt. The independent Scottish distillery has previously bottled single grain whisky made from rye grown on its own farm.
Arbikie Single Malt has been produced in its entirety on the Arbikie Estate: grown, distilled, matured, and bottled on-site at the farm distillery.
The single malt was debuted in private tastings at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland earlier this year.
Iain Stirling, co-founder of Arbikie Distillery, commented: “This is not intended as a large-scale launch. Davos was the right setting for an initial introduction, and the response has been hugely encouraging. We’re excited to build on that momentum as we move towards launch.”
The planned single malt releases will include:
- The Wild One, a 100-bottle release made using "wild, spontaneous fermentation"
- The Journey, an annual series that will chart the maturation of Arbikie's single malt from 10 to 18 Years Old, each finished in a different cask style
- The Signature, the inaugural Arbikike single malt, which has been matured for 10 years in bourbon casks and will form the "foundation" of Arbikie's single malt portfolio
