Ardnamurchan Distillery, the distilling arm of Adelphi, which has been lauded (and awarded) for its sustainability credentials, has marked its 10-year anniversary. To celebrate the milestone, the distillery has revealed new whisky Ardnamurchan 10 Years Old.
Located on the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula in Scotland, the distillery is known for the coastal maturation that shapes its whisky. It debuted its inaugural whisky, AD/09.20:01, in 2020.
For the team behind Ardnamurchan, the release of a 10-year-old whisky has been a much-anticipated moment. Managing director Alex Bruce said: "For over two years there has been a virtual ‘Do not touch’ sign on just about every cask filled from 2014 to 2016 (with a few exceptions). This is part of our own preservation order to allow for longer ageing of stock for future releases, but it has also meant that we haven’t been looking at the evolution of the older stock.

"When we started to sample the early 2014s for the 10 year anniversary release we were genuinely amazed by the whole new set of flavours emerging. This is a proper grown-up whisky, waxy, fruity, complex, and evolving, and I am unbelievably proud of it. We look forward to sharing this exceptional dram with whisky enthusiasts around the world."
To make the Ardnamurchan 10 Years Old, unpeated spirit was matured in first-fill bourbon casks. About half of the batch was finished in Champagne Paul Launois barriques for more than a year.
Tasting notes from the distillery reveal tropical fruits, honey, crème caramel, warming spices, and cedar.
Ardnamurchan 10 Years Old (50% ABV) will be available via specialist retailers internationally at RRP £65.
