Craft brewer BrewDog has announced the closure of its distilling arm. BrewDog Distilling Co will cease operations "over the coming months", the company confirmed.
BrewDog's spirit brands, which includes Lone Wolf Gin, Abstrakt Vodka, Casa Rayos Tequila, and Ron Bodega, will be discontinued. The distillery's first single malt whisky was in production — speaking to Whisky Magazine in 2025, then-managing director of BrewDog Distilling Co Steven Kersley confirmed that the whisky was expected to hit shelves in 2026.
Kersley left the business in October 2025, following the departure of BrewDog co-founder and BrewDog Distilling CEO Martin Dickie in August.
BrewDog added that the closure of its distilling arm would not affect its Wonderland ready-to-drink cocktail range.
A spokesperson for BrewDog said: "After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to cease production of our distilling brands, with the exception of Wonderland cocktails. This will allow us to sharpen our focus, and concentrate our efforts on our beer and the continued growth of Wonderland.
"We’re incredibly proud of what the distillery team has built and want to thank everyone who has worked on, contributed to, and supported the distilling business over the years."
BrewDog's statement added that the distilling team would "manage a smooth wind-down" over the coming months, including the "run-off of remaining stock", and current supply commitments would be honoured.
BrewDog was founded in 2007 by school friends Martin Dickie and James Watt, beginning life as a Scottish craft beer brewery. The Lone Wolf distillery, as BrewDog’s distilling arm was initially known, was opened in 2015, and BrewDog Distilling Co was founded the following year.
