Cardrona Distillery has released the second expression in its intriguing ‘progress report’ of bottlings. Growing Wings is the first 5-year-old release from the New Zealand dis-tiller, available as a limited release.
The release coincides with Cardrona’s fifth birthday on 5th November this year. Based in the Crown Range of New Zealand, the team won acclaim for its 3-year-old Just Hatched expression, which sold out in days, and Growing Wings marks the conclusion of Just Hatched which will now take its place in collector’s archives.
Marking the five-year anniversary of the first spirit laid down at Cardrona, the release is cask strength and aged in single Oloroso Sherry butt. There are 1,100 bottles of the 61.2% ABV expression available at an RRP of £125.
