If you follow music news as well as whisky news, it's been a big week. At the Grammys on Sunday, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter took home Album of the Year for the first time — an almost-surprising milestone, since the 'Texas Hold 'Em' singer is the most-awarded and most-nominated artist in Grammy history.

Beyoncé made headlines in the whisky world in 2024 when she released SirDavis, a whisky developed in collaboration with industry legend Dr Bill Lumsden and Moët Hennessy. Made with an unusual mash bill of 51 per cent rye, 49 per cent malted barley, Whisky Magazine taster Alwynne Gwilt called it "a well-rounded, punchy whisky that makes me want to sit in a dimly lit bar until the early hours, watching the world go by."

Our cocktail selection this week is SirDavis' Honey Bee, inspired by Beyoncé's 'Beyhive' of fans.

Ingredients:
60ml SirDavis American Whisky
22.5ml lemon juice
15ml honey syrup*
Honeycomb to garnish

Method:
Add liquid ingredients to a shaker tin with ice going in last. Shake for dilution and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with honeycomb.

*To make honey syrup, add 2 parts honey and 1 part water into a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the honey is dissolved. Allow to cool and transfer to an airtight container.
