Maybe you celebrated the summer solstice on Monday and want to make a cocktail in its honour; maybe you’re just in need of something refreshing and summery to sip as the weekend arrives. Either way, this midsummer-inspired recipe from Scottish whisky distillery Nc’nean hits the spot.
The name Nc’nean is an abbreviation of ‘Neachneohain’, a huntress and fierce protector in Gaelic legend, who was known as the Queen of Spirits and was ‘never afraid to walk her own path’. Nc’nean distillery follows this ethos, and with this recipe gives a nod to nature at the time of the summer solstice. Full ingredients and recipe below!
50ml Nc’nean Single Malt Whisky
100ml soda water
Mint sprig, to garnish
Fill a glass with ice cubes and add all the ingredients. Gently stir then garnish with a fresh sprig of mint.
