This week, our featured cocktail recipe comes from Ross Little from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society's (SMWS) Kaleidoscope Bar in Edinburgh. It's made with Wandering Alchemy, a SMWS blended malt whisky which uses spirit from each of Scotland's five whisky-producing region.
The blend was created to celebrate Scotland's whisky festivals, an ever-growing field which includes the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, Fèis Ìle, and more. The summery, flavourful cocktail serve continues the celebration of whisky festival season in a glass.
Ingredients:
25ml Wandering Alchemy Blended Malt Whisky
10ml coffee liqueur
5ml honey
2 dashes chocolate bitters
2 dashes walnut bitters
Tonic water
Method:
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail mixing glass filled with ice and stir well. Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice, then top with tonic. Garnish with a wedge of burnt orange (lightly charred using a kitchen blowtorch for added aroma and depth).
