The Council of Whiskey Masters has named a number of new Masters of Whisk(e)y.
Following its annual master exams at the Isle of Raasay Distillery, the council named nine new Masters of Scotch and two Masters of Bourbon, confirmed following examinations into their specialisms, and six Masters of Whisk(e)y, awarded for their global whiskey knowledge.
The examinations for Scotch whisky and bourbon included blind tastings, oral theory exams, and essay questions covering whisky history, production, regulations, and major distilleries.
The international judging panel comprised members of the Council of Whiskey Masters' board, which includes recognised members of the whisky industry including Steve Beal, Dave Broom, Hans Offringa, and Charles MacLean. Alasdair Day of the Isle of Raasay Distillery has also joined the council as the newest member of its advisory board.
