The Coronation Edition will celebrate the Islay distillery, which became the first single malt distillery to hold a Royal Warrant when His Majesty awarded it one in 1994 as the Prince of Wales.
Selected by Duncan Taylor's chairman Euan Shand, the trio of Laphroaig whiskies for the Coronation Edition are aged 18, 23, and 26 years and were each finished in a Duncan Taylor sherry octave.
Sequentially numbered and limited to 150 sets worldwide, the Coronation Edition is presented in a clear hexagonal case with gold mirror accents and a protective royal blue drawstring bag. Each set comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, tasting notes, and a pair of handling gloves.
Shand said: "It’s an honour to launch this set for the King’s coronation using some of the finest Laphroaig whiskies in our portfolio. These whiskies have been matured at our headquarters in Huntly, waiting for the right opportunity where the whiskies are at their optimum for release and there’s no better occasion than now."
The Coronation Edition is available to pre-order from the Spirits Embassy, priced at £3,900.
