Glasgow Warriors and The Famous Grouse have announced that fans unable to make the trip to La Rochelle for this weekend’s game will still be able to get in on the action, as members of the squad host fans and put their bar skills to the test at The Old Schoolhouse on Saturday 7 December.

The event – which gets underway at 1pm – will see supporters and players mix at the Woodlands Road venue, already a firm favourite for the Warrior Nation.

The Famous Grouse has already put Matt Fagerson and Ruaridh Jackson to the test, bringing their whisky knowledge up to scratch to help them serve firm favourites from The Famous Grouse portfolio including the Smoky Black and Cola and The Famous Grouse and Ginger. The Old Schoolhouse has become known as an outpost for the team’s official supporters club, The XVIth Warrior, and will be showing pre-match build up from 3pm.

With the venue famed for its electric atmosphere on matchday, fans can enjoy a range of bar snacks and filling fare ranging from burgers and pizzas, as well as an extensive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks alongside a range of whisky options.

Lauren Busby, brand manager of The Famous Grouse said: “At The Famous Grouse we know the hard work and determination it takes to create and provide consumers with the UK’s number one whisky and this is synonymous with the work Glasgow Warriors put into their training schedule everyday. As sponsors of Glasgow Warriors, we are proud to continue to work closely with the club and Old Schoolhouse to give back to fans as we all pull together in supporting the team in this crucial Heineken Champions Cup group game.”

Glasgow Warriors managing director Nathan Bombrys said: “It’s great to have The Famous Grouse Fan Zone at The Old Schoolhouse as a venue for our supporters to follow the team when we’re away from home. This is a great initiative from our Official Whisky Partner, The Famous Grouse and I know our players are looking forward to watching the match against La Rochelle at The Old Schoolhouse on Saturday.”

The non-ticketed event will begin at 1pm and will run until the conclusion of the match.
