For those readers with a penchant for sartorial excellence, the good news is that Bowmore Distillery have recently launched an exciting collaboration with the esteemed Savile Row tailor, Malcolm Plews and the historical Woollen Mill, based in Bridgend to the north of Islay.

After commissioning a unique tweed pattern from the mill's owner, Gordon Covell, the distillery are offering the opportunity to take ownership of perhaps the ultimate gentleman's gift; a bespoke tailoring session on Savile Row, which includes a made-to-measure tweed jacket cut by Plews, followed by an in-depth one-to-one whisky tasting with one of Bowmore's whisky experts. The package includes first class travel to London from anywhere in the UK, a one night stay for two at the Malmaison Hotel in Clerkenwell and lunch for two at the Sartoria restaurant on Savile Row, as well as a bottle of Bowmore Darkest and a pair of tasting glasses. At £3000, the package is probably only going to appeal to the single malt fan with deep pockets but for those who fancy grabbing a bespoke piece of distillery merchandise, visit: www.singlemaltwhiskyshop.com.
