The expression has been fully matured in a French wine barrel. It’s set to release in Kavalan’s four boutique stores across Shanghai, with an engraved “Shanghai Special Release” edition of the bottle to be made available.
The producer has described the expression has having aromas of pomegranate, soft honey, deep tannins, sweet melon, guava and apple. Notes of vanilla sweetness, chewy fig, plum, juicy grape and ripened melon follow on the palate, with a concluding strong finish.
Bottled at 57.1% ABV, the RRP price for the standard 750ml bottle is NT$6,600, while customers buying the special engraved Shanghai Special will pay RMB¥2,088.
The latest of Kavalan’s Shanghai boutique stores open on 13 October at the Shanghai Suhe Centre Green Park complex. The brand’s concept store is also located in Shanghai, designed in collaboration with Tian An Group and British designer Thomas Heatherwick.
In Taiwan, there are nearly 50 stores, including the famous Kavalan Bar & Shop inside Taiwan’s landmark building Taipei 101, which opened in August 2021 and offers the brand’s complete spirits range.
