MaltLive Dubai 2025, the UAE-based edition of whisky-tasting event Whisky Live, was the host of a Guinness World Record-breaking masterclass last month.

Held on 22 February, the session broke the record for the most nationalities in a whisky masterclass, with participants from 60 countries. The event was hosted by Benbecula Distillery and the Malt Society Arabia — the latter of which runs MaltLive.

MaltLive, which ran for the second time this year after its 2024 launch, took place on 21 and 22 February. It welcomed more than 6,000 attendees and dozens of distilleries from around the world. Event attractions included whisky tasting, masterclasses, a VIP lounge, a cigar park, food arcade, and live entertainment, as well as a bartending competition designed to celebrate local talent.

MaltLive 2025 also saw the debut of the Icons of Whisky Middle East & Africa 2025. At the awards presentation, members of the whisky industry were recognised for their contribution to spirit in a number of categories.

MaltLive will return in 2026 for the third iteration of the whisky show.
