Ireland's Midleton Distillery, producer of Jameson, Redbreast, and the Spot whiskeys, is releasing the bottlings for select travel retailers at London Heathrow, Amsterdam Schipol, and Dublin and Shannon in Ireland.
The whiskies, chosen by Irish Distillers master distiller Kevin O'Gorman, feature different age statements and cask finishes. Each bottle carries an individual bottle and cask number, and is presented in a case accompanied by a booklet giving information on the cask and tasting notes.
Antonio Duva, general manager for EMEA and Pacific at Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail, added: “We’re proud of the global success of the booming Irish whiskey category and are delighted to bring a rare and luxury offering to whiskey collectors and enthusiasts. We are thrilled to be working with our key partners to bring to market very special and exclusive releases, and the Midleton Very Rare Single Cask release is truly a one-of-a-kind launch."
The Midleton Very Rare Single Cask collection comprises:
- The 27 Years Old First Fill Bourbon (€900), exclusive to Gebr. Heinemann, which has been bottled for Amsterdam Airport’s Exquisite Store
- The 25 Year Old Virgin American Oak (€800), which is listed exclusively at three locations (also through Heinemann) at Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Shannon airports
- The 21 Years Old Virgin American Oak (£500), launched with World Duty Free (Dufry) at London Heathrow
- The 24 Years Old First Fill Bourbon (RRP €735), available through Aer Rianta at Dublin Airport
