Glenfiddich has revealed the latest additions to its lineup. The three-part Glenfiddich XS collection is a "luxurious" set of single malt Scotch whiskies.
The collection comprises three Glenfiddich whiskies at 15, 18, and 21 Years Old, each finished in various sherry casks. Launching first in China, "Glenfiddich XS is a whisky crafted with a new generation of whisky drinkers in mind," said malt master Brian Kinsman.
Kinsman added: "Glenfiddich XS is a whisky of gradual and powerful revelation. An exciting whisky that invites exploration and is designed to mark richer experiences. The multi-layered secondary maturation has created a subtle and sophisticated taste that unveils new depths to the liquid profile."
The youngest of the trio, Glenfiddich XS 15 Years Old (RRP £58) has first been matured in a combination of American and European oak casks for 15 years, before a finish in oloroso sherry casks. The brand says the whisky has green apple and cinnamon notes, with light spice and gentle oak.
Glenfiddich XS 18 Years Old (RRP £88) was similarly matured in American and European oak casks, with a finish in moscatel sherry casks. Glenfiddich's tasting notes highlight caramelised fruit, treacle toffee, and dried fruits.
Rounding out the collection is Glenfiddich XS 21 Years Old (RRP £170), which has been matured in American oak and oloroso sherry casks, before its finish in Pedro Ximénez casks. According to Glenfiddich, its maturation has given the whisky notes of woody spice, dates, figs, and layers of oak.
Charlie Maclean, MBE and Master of the Quaich commented: “All three expressions surprised me. Finishing in different styles of sherry-seasoned casks has given each whisky a greater depth of character an added dimension and complexity, while not masking the original character of the distillate. By design, the sherry influence is subtle and understated.”
Glenfiddich XS will be available from the Glenfiddich distillery shop, select whisky specialist retail and bars and restaurants across China, and in The Distiller’s Library boutiques across Asia from November 2025.
