New sweet treat for The Lakes Distillery visitors

Cumbrian distillery partners with chocolatier for special tasting tour

The Lakes Distillery has announced a sweet treat for guests travelling to its award-winning visitor centre.

The Whiskymaker's House – which was named Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Whisky Magazine Awards 2019 – will be hosting a new whisky and chocolate pairing tour from Friday, 6 March.

Visitors will be invited to go behind the scenes at the Cumbrian distillery on a multi-sensory tour before retiring to the Whiskymaker's House for a guided tasting of The Lakes' single malt whiskies, paired with artisan chocolates from The Highland Chocolatier. The truffles, made by master chocolatier Iain Burnett, were chosen to complement the sherry-led flavours in The Lakes's single malt.

Housed in a former Victorian farmhouse, the Whiskymaker's House comprises a state-of-the-art blending laboratory and tasting rooms. The distiller invested £650,000 in its renovation.

The whisky and chocolate tasting tour is priced at £25 per person and takes approximately two hours. Guests must be over the age of 18. Tickets can be booked at www.lakesdistillery.com.
