Taking place from La Grande Halle de la Villette, Whisky Live Paris is the ideal launching pad for any expression, with the show returning after its huge success of last summer.
Jugalbandi #1 and Jugalbandi #2 are the first of eight releases of the Indian Single Malt whisky, which will roll out to the USA, Singapore, Australia, the UK and Travel Retail over the coming months after its Paris debut.
Rampur Jugalbandi #1 is matured in American bourbon barrels in the north Inidian climate, with the malt finished in bespoke Moscatel casks from Portugal. The producer has decribed the expression as having aromas of lychee, mango and banana, with notes of sweet vanilla on the palate.
Jugabbandi #2 is also matured in American bourbon barrels in the north Indian climate, however finished in handpicked calvados casks from Normandy. The aromas are described as having notes of pear, apricot and honey, with notes of dried apple, apricot and raisin on the palate.
Anup Barik, Master Distiller at Rampur Distillery, said: “We are always striving to make each Rampur expression of the highest quality and exciting for malt whisky drinkers. I was inspired to create the Rampur Jugalbandi series as I wanted to show how different casks marry together in true Jugalbandi style.”
