Redbreast has released the global travel retail exclusive Cuatro Barriles Edition — the second permanent expression in the Irish whiskey brand's Iberian Series.
Crafted at Midleton Distillery in Co Cork, Ireland, Cuatro Barriles Edition was produced from the combination of four distinct cask types: American ex-bourbon, Spanish oloroso sherry butts, Portuguese tawny port hogsheads, and European new oak casks.
Tasting notes supplied by Redbreast Irish Whiskey say the whiskey has notes of sweet spices, tannin, dark berry and subtle oak, each one representing a part of the Iberian peninsula’s heritage.
Cuatro Barriles Edition has been made to pay homage to the success of the Redbreast Iberian Series, which includes the ever-popular Lustau Edition and the limited-release Tawny Port Cask Edition, while showcasing the brand’s focus on exploring new flavour profiles.
The brand, which is owned by Irish Distillers, won the World's Best Pot Still title at the World Whiskies Awards 2024 for its core-range Redbreast 21 Years Old.
