Ross & Squibb Distillery has announced that its Remus Repeal Reserve Series VI Straight Bourbon Whiskey will release this September. The limited-edition bourbon marks the sixth-annual offering of the distillery’s Remus Repeal Reserve Collection, with a small number of quantities available in September to coincide with National Bourbon Heritage Month.
Previous releases of the Remus Repeal Reserve have performed well internationally in the bourbon category, and the distillery will hope that this expression will be the latest to receive critical acclaim.
Created by master distiller Ian Stirsman and his team of master distillers and blenders, the latest release is comprised of five bourbons from its Lawrenceburg, Indiana distillery, including:
• 29% 2014 Bourbon (21% Rye)
• 27% 2012 Bourbon (21% Rye)
• 25% 2014 Bourbon (36% Rye)
• 17% 2012 Bourbon (36% Rye)
• 2% 2008 Bourbon (21% Rye)
The producer has described the nose as having a rich candied fruit aroma with notes of nutmeg and saddle leather, a fruit and fig jam mouthfeel with notes of oak and barrel char, mint and slight caramel, concluded with a balanced finish of sweet, candied fruit and leather combined with lingering sweetness.
Stirsman commented on the release: “The Remus Repeal Reserve series provides our team the opportunity to showcase the incredible array of aged reserves available to work with, as well as our expertise at blending these bourbons to create a special medley each year. Series VI is the latest in this award-winning collection that is certain to be yet another excellent example of what our Remus Repeal collection represents: what great bourbon can be.”
Bottled at 50% ABV, the retail price for this limited edition bourbon will be $99.99 per 750-ml.
