Blended whisky brand Royal Salute has revealed the new expression in its Fashion Collection, released to coincide with the beginning of London Fashion Week 2024.
For the new release, Royal Salute partnered with designer Harris Reed to create the Royal Salute 21 Years Old Harris Reed Edition. Master blender Sandy Hyslop worked with Reed to craft the expression over a private blending session in Strathisla Distillery, drawing from Royal Salute’s inventory.
The resulting blend includes sherry-matured Braeval whisky for raisin and spice notes, malts matured in American oak for sweet and fruity notes, and a grain whisky finished in charred new oak to add vanilla notes.
Reed said: “I always strive to focus my creativity on magnifying what’s on the inside, and diving into the depths of Royal Salute’s unique heritage and our shared passion for craft and pushing creative boundaries became a rich source of inspiration throughout our collaboration. Luxury is something to collect and treasure, and I am so delighted to share such an exceptional whisky that can be enjoyed and talked about around the globe.”
The expression’s distinctive bottles were designed by Reed exclusively for the release. Three designs have been released, which each displaying a feathered crown, inspired by Reed’s signature headpieces and Royal Salute’s heritage. Alongside the whisky release, Reed has designed a fashion collection of three looks inspired by the bottle designs.
Royal Salute 21 Years Old Harris Reed Edition is available from 12 September 2024 via select luxury retailers worldwide, at an RRP of US$248. For more information, visit royalsalute.com.
