Royal Salute has announced its new 62 Gun Salute collection — a trio of blends that takes inspiration from Royal Salute’s regal heritage. The collection is also inspired by the 62 Gun Salute ceremony, one of the British Monarchy’s highest forms of ceremonial honour, fired on State occasions from the Tower of London. The collection will be a permanent feature of Royal Salute’s product line.
Alongside the existing Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute Original Reserve are two new expressions — The American Oak Reserve and The Peated Reserve. Each has been crafted by Royal Salute master blender Sandy Hyslop. With more than 40 years of knowledge and experience, she has personally hand-selected the malt and grain whiskies used in each blend.
Discussing the new collection, Hyslop commented: “As the crowning jewel in Royal Salute’s portfolio, the crafting process behind this collection was lengthy and meticulous until I was absolutely confident we had blends representative of an authentic 62 Gun Salute ceremony. The collection’s flavour profile is beautifully complex and rounded, connecting all the senses to create a lasting taste experience that reflects the significance of the occasion.”
The Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute Original Reserve and The American Oak Reserve (RRP US$3,000 each) will be released from July 2024, each available at selected retailers globally. The Peated Reserve (RRP US$3,300) will be released exclusively in duty-free airports initially, before being rolled out globally. For more information, visit Royal Salute’s website.
