The Glenturret has announced the release of their Core Collection for 2023, made up of eight signature whiskies. For the first time, a 35 year old expression joins the range, created from a single European Oak sherry butt. The collection has been crafted by whisky maker Bob Dalgarno.

The first five whiskies in the 2023 core collection are made up of Triple Wood, the 7 years old peat smoked, 10 years old peat smoked, 12 years old and 15 years old. Three rare single malts make up the rest of the collection, available in only highly limited numbers.

The first is the 25 years old, created from six casks stored in Glenturret’s traditional Dunnage warehouse, including European oak and American oak. Only 210 bottles are available worldwide. Bottled at 42.6%, the producers have described the spirit as having notes of oak, citrus and boiled sweets on the palate followed by a warming finish.

The Glenturret 30 years old is limited to 500 bottles, created from a search for specific flavours found in five older casks, including European oak and two American oak hogsheads. Bottled at 42.7%, the producers have described this expression as having notes of ripening bananas, prunes and figs.

The final expression in the collection is the 2023 release of the 35 years old, with only 185 bottle. The liquid comes from a single European Oak sherry butt, said to be chosen for its complexity. The strongest ABV of the three rare single malts, its ABV is 42.8% and is described the producers as having notes toasted oak and cinnamon on the palate with a lingering fruity finish.

We release a new collection each year, trying to create something special each year, so hopefully our customers will enjoy the new 2023 Collection as much as we do!” 

The new range is now available at select retailers and distributors as well as online. The 25-, 30- and 35 years old expressions are available for pre-order sales, with bottles available for delivery in late Summer.
