The Whiskymaker's Reserve No. 6, available from 2 March, will be the penultimate release in the series, which The Lakes Distillery has described as its "journey to define a signature style". It was matured in bespoke oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and red wine casks made from Spanish and American oak and, according to the distillery, exhibits exotic spice notes and a gentle rose fragrance that differentiate it from previous whiskies in the series.
To celebrate the release, The Lakes Distillery has partnered with renowned mixologists from some of the UK leading bars to design a series of serves. Venues involved include Scarfes Bar at Rosewood London, The Stafford's American Bar, The Berkley Bar & Terrace, The Lanesborough's Library Bar, The Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental, and the Donovan Bar at Brown's Hotel.
It follows the immense success of the Whiskymaker's Reserve No. 4, which was named World's Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards in 2022.
The Whiskymaker's Reserve No. 6 is non-chill filtered and bottled with natural colour at 52% ABV. It is available from lakesdistillery.com and specialist whisky retailers from 2 March at a recommended price of £85.
