The Lost Distillery Company has announced the release of two limited deep age statement bottlings: Lossit 27 Years Old and Towiemore 25 Years Old. The bottlings are said to be a homage to the rich heritage of the Scotch whisky industry.
With a limited release of 210 bottles, the Lossit 27 Years Old has been described by the producer as having notes of smoke on the palate, with sweetness building through the middle, leading to leather and chocolate notes with a tropical twist to finish. The Towiemore 25 Years Old, meanwhile. is a 330 bottle release, which has been described as having harmonious fusion of sweet fruits, well-fired rich Madeira cake, spicy sherry notes, prunes and roasted almonds.
Of the new releases, founder and CEO of The Lost Distillery Company Scott Watson said, “We are proud to protect and regenerate Scotland’s Lost Whisky Heritage. Based at Dumfries House, we are committed to making fine whisky in and from Ayrshire to help regenerate a community that played such a key role in the history of Scotch whisky. We hope connoisseurs love these two fine drams and take the time to explore our story. Each bottle is a celebration of heritage, artistry and our spirit of regeneration through innovation.”
