The Singleton has launched Gardens of Abundance, a new range exclusive to travel retail. The four-part range includes the expressions Radiant Spring Gardens, Golden Autumn Orchard, Exotic Spice Grove, and Deep Forest Riches.
The collection, which Diageo says is its largest ever in travel retail, will launch globally this summer. The theme behind Gardens of Abundance draws “the harmony between nature and craftmanship”.
Master blender Dr Craig Wilson explained: “Inspired by seasonality, we developed flavours that evoke specific times and places. We focused on environments that inspired emotions and aromas, influencing not only the whisky but also the naming, recipes, and wood types used for aging.
“The first variant, Radiant Spring Garden, reflects the terroir of the distillery and its surroundings. As the collection progresses, it incorporates more exotic influences. The whiskies evolve from light, grassy notes to mature orchards, sweet spice groves, and rich forest woodiness.”
The four whiskies in the collection are:
- Radiant Spring Garden (42.8% ABV, RRP £55*) — matured in white oak casks, for a “bright and fruity” character.
- Golden Autumn Orchard (41.8% ABV, RRP £80*) — double oak matured in ex-bourbon and American white oak casks, with “fruity notes of toffee apples”.
- Exotic Spice Grove (42.8% ABV, RRP £150*) — triple oak matured, first in ex-wine and rejuvenated casks before marriage in reserve oak casks, for “opulent flavours”.
- Deep Forest Riches (44.8% ABV, RRP £220*) — quadruple cask matured: first in European oak before finishing in Palo Cortado, Marsala, and Pedro Ximénez/oloroso seasoned casks, with “notes of dried fruits, raisins, dates, and dark chocolate”.
*Prices will vary by market.
Wilson concludes: “Opening a bottle from this range is like stepping into a secret garden, with aromas of blooming flowers, fresh herbs, and ripe fruits, promising a unique sensory journey.”
The Singleton Gardens of Abundance collection will launch in select airports from August 2024 before rolling out to further locations in the following months.
