Every two years, the Scotch whisky industry’s preeminent distillers submit exceptional, one-off whiskies to go under the hammer at the Distillers One of One auction. Created by the Distillers’ Charity, the philanthropic arm of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, one of the UK’s oldest livery companies, the auction’s hammer price is donated to charity and principally benefits the Distillers' Youth Action Fund. So far, two auctions have raised an incredible £4.2 million for charity.
The Whisky Magazine team headed to the recent auction at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh to learn more about the whiskies on sale at the most recent auction and the Youth Action Fund's tangible impact on the lives of vulnerable 16- to 25-year-olds in Scotland.
