Glasgow is set to host a haggis hunt on Burns Night (January 25), organised by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).

A total of 18 stuffed haggises will be placed on and around Bath Street in the city, where the new SMWS Members' Room will open in March, as well as around iconic Glasgow landmarks George Square, Kelvingrove, Glasgow Cathedral and Barrowlands.

Lucky participants who discover the haggises will be in with a chance of winning prizes including an annual membership to the society, SMWS bottles or tasting glasses.

Successful hunters must take their stuffed haggis to The Good Spirits Co on Bath Street, Glasgow by January 31, where they can redeem their prize.

The Bath Street members' room will bring the society’s colourful whisky experiences to Glasgow for the first time and follows on from already established SMWS locations in Edinburgh, including its home at The Vaults in Leith.

Calum Lawson, venue manager at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society Glasgow Members’ Room, said: “So many of our members are based in and around the wonderful city of Glasgow, so opening a members’ room here was the natural move.

“Our haggis hunt is a great way for members and non-members alike to come together and experience the fun of the society."
