Davin de Kergommeaux

For well over a quarter of a century, Davin de Kergommeaux has been writing, speaking, and teaching about whisky. He is the author of four whisky books, has contributed chapters to eight others, and is recognised as the world expert on Canadian whisky.

 

Whisky travels have taken him to four continents to research, pour and speak about whisky. Canada’s national newspaper, The Globe and Mail named him one of the 50 most influential Canadians in food and drink, while The New York Times declared his significance in the revival of Canadian whisky could not be overstated. His most recent book, Canadian Whisky: The Essential Portable Expert was published in March 2024. That same month he was inducted into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame, only the second Canadian ever accorded that honour. He lives in Ottawa with his wife and Lhasa apso pup.
