Nose

Intense doesn’t do this nose justice. Huge herbal rye, smoked bacon, red wine jelly, cinnamon sticks, earth, coffee, treacle, brambly black fruit, bitter chocolate and subtle marc-like notes. Water emphasises the rye.

Palate

Young, sweet rose petal marc and redcurrant jelly to start, but the bitter wood notes and alcohol hit the palate hard. Diluted, it’s a bit homogenous. \n

Finish

So mouth-watering. It’s almost painful to hold it in the mouth with lingering herbal marc-like notes.\n
