Nose

Oaky. Logfire. Dry wood. Opening on sweeter notes. Toffee apple. Mint chocolate. Pears in syrup. Restrained at first but unwinds in time.

Palate

Dry at first but with a velvety texture. Oak is definitely the leader but there is much more. Toffee again.

Finish

Dry and slightly astringent.

Comment

Give time to this whisky but avoid water which enhances the alcohol feel. There is some austerity in the character but it does open up with a bit of patience.
