The raisiny, deftly honeyed brittle pot still eventually dominates the spice. Brooding stuff.

Palate

Shafts of honey pierce the oaky, barley-rich intensity. Excellent bittersweet balance, but tending on the sweetish side.

Finish

Docked marks for a slight briefness of finish. Hints of cocoa towards the end.

Sensational stuff of a style universally unique to Irish whiskey, the Midleton distillery in particular. A classic.
