Nose

Raspberries, wood varnish, pepper. Fragrant wood – both freshly cut and charred, incense, grilled peaches scattered with hazelnuts, and their pits too.

Palate

A pleasing plasticky, chewy texture to this. High ABV is evident, even with a dash of water. A dry whisky with Frazzles and barbecue rub characters, milk chocolate-covered peanuts and slightly unripe nectarines.

Finish

Chilli-sprinkled wood varnish.
