Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Big and sweet with lots of childhood aromas: rosehip syrup, travel sweets, stewed rhubarb, ginger snaps filled with cream and strawberry jam. High tea in a glass.

Palate: Very thick and mouthfilling, mixing oak, red fruit coulis. Juicy and fat. Best neat, though water brings out a light leafy quality.

Finish: Sweet chestnut.

Comment: A plump fruity number.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Tangy, slightly spirity. Very fruity. Tangerine juice, grapefruit (the pulp not the peel), plum jam. Gives a fresh feel. A touch of nougat. Opens on cappuccino. Touch of leather.

Palate: Smooth and sweet at first then abruptly shifts to hot spices (tabasco). A touch of cocoa bean.

Finish: Dry and warm.

Comment: Quite a punchy lad. Water calms it but that colourful fruit basket loses its brightness.
