Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Seems young. Slightly stony, shifting to nuttiness and a touch of kiln-like smoke. Plain and pretty hard.

Palate: As the nose suggests, penetrating alcohol and a lean flinty quality. Water is needed to bring out balancing sweetness. Direct and ultimately pretty hard.

Finish: Fades quickly.

Comment: Tight and hard to love.

Score: 7

Taster

Nose: Chopped, mixed nuts and a buttery pastry. Amaretto biscuits, honeydew melon and Granny Smith apples. Lemon meringue pie.

Palate: A sweet syrupy texture with vanilla, melons and lemon rind. Victoria Sponge.

Finish: Minerally and lightly earthy.

Comment: A bright, sparkling nose and slightly less exciting on the palate but still good.
