Nose

Crab apple and redcurrant jelly. A bourbony, grain-like character is more evident. A little cloying after a time, like the sweetness of jam cooking.

Palate

Lots of vanilla, filled with new sawn oak.

Finish

That vanilla oozes back like a half-sucked caramel chew.

Comment

A simple but satisfying whiskey that almost tricked me into thinking it was a bourbon at times. Good stuff for its age too.
