Nose
Beautifully defined oak; almost chestnut sweet with clean sherry, softly peated and bourbony.
Palate
Oak again, teasingly spicy with sweetness and intense malt. Hint of liquorice .
Finish
Long, chewy, smoky and initially sweet with the liquorice continuing, dries slowly to an oaky encore.
Comment
An almost immaculate portrayal of an old-fashioned, high quality malt. Quite outstanding for its age.
