ABV 40%
On this occasion the vintage bottling had the most typical Aberlour character, especially in its spiciness. I also enjoyed its liveliness and complexity. The best Aberlour on the day.

Nose: Fresh. Momentarily sweet, then cedary and grassy, with a gentle suggestion of peat.
Palate: Light to medium. Firm. Smooth. Malty. Lots of flavour development. Nutmeg is very evident.
Finish: More spices. Peppery. Some sweetness.

Taster
Nose: Initially quite light and lean. Water is needed to bring out a hot bracken, toffee note with US wood: light hickory, honey and spice. Flat.
Palate: A burst of soft toffee, loads of honey and a dry cereal, peanut brittle edginess. A little musty.
Finish: Chewy, medium length, a little minty.
Comment: Young and light but a bit flat with a wet newspaper note that could be light corkiness.
Score: 7.5
