Tasting Notes

Nose

Ripe with lots of new wood and with that a light charred/hickory note. Some hickory. Semisweet and bourbon, but has a certain complexity.

Palate

Briar, polished wood. Dry and slightly tannic. Very firm meaning that the sweetness is obscured by the oak. There's nutmeg, allspice and some black fruit.

Finish

Long slightly tannic.

Comment

The oak is a little heavy-handed and though it has character, there's a lack of balance.
