Nose

Heavily oaked nose, plenty of vanilla with pineapple, banana and sweet but herbal rye-like spices. Rather sweet and buttery but the spices keep it lively.

Palate

Initially toffeed oak but the herbal rye-like spices come through fast. Drier than the nose with softer spices and a herbal intensity.

Finish

Long and herbal (camphor and camomile). A touch of honey and coffee. Sweet oak returns to counteract the drying spices. The dryness holds.

Comment

Love the intensity of this. Not to everyone’s taste, but if you love young, herbal rye whisky then it will be.
