Nose

Soft blackcurrant and cinnamon syrup. Molasses and liquorice. Water opens it up with barbequed wood and a hint of ash. Coffee, toffee and eucalyptus.

Palate

Hickory smoked beef and bresaola. Tobacco leaf and cocoa bean. Expensive warm shoe leather. With water comes menthol.

Finish

Toasted, warming and rich, then cooling.

Sophisticated and beautifully integrated. Unusual flavours for Balblair but they work.
