Nose

Fairly subtle to begin with. Some floral notes, yellow apples and melting butter. It gives more as it sits in the glass — white sugar, banana foams, lemon drizzle cake.

Palate

Again, fairly light. Almost cooling. Some nuts (slivered almonds), marshmallow, blossom honey.

Finish

More of the alcohol comes through on the finish. There’s some spice and sweetness, but fairly delicate.

Comment

Not a whisky that shouts at you — definitely a gentler beast. But I was left slightly wanting by the end.
