Nose
Pungent aromas of wet cardboard and musty sherry spice. Hard barley can be detected along with coffee, herbs and light peat smoke.
Palate
Edgy, brittle barley and honey, but the honey isn't deep or sweet enough to offset the industrial character. Some earthy, bitter spice arrives on the middle with a touch of vanilla and alcohol.
Finish
Long and sweeter as the honey and oak comes through, the finish is rather hot.
Comment
Malts with this sort of industrial style need sweetness to balance. For me, it’s not really there.
