Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: This starts slightly cheesy - but in a nice way. Hazelnut, moist earth, dried herbs and the last of the summers’ fruits. Elegant.

Palate: Raisin and sultana allied to baked fruits with a touch of smoke. The grip is firm enough but not oppressive. Has guts behind the sweetness. Great balance.

Finish: Long and smooth.

Comment: Elegance. This is what mature whisky is about.

Score: 8.9

Taster

Nose: Earthy. Burnt leaves washed by rain. Sultanas and Dundee cake. Hint of sulphur there too.

Palate: Sweet, generous. Oily. Almond and orange cake. Soft spices.

Finish: Dry, lingering.

Comment: A multilayered Speyside with a touch of sherry. Well balanced and delivering.
