Nose
Quite herbal and autumnal with burnt coffee / toffee, subtle dried fruit, both grain and sherry derived. The sherry makes it feel quite weighty and adds mature feeling wood notes along with a touch of green wood smoke.
Palate
Full and sherried, but sulphury. There is a touch of earth, prune, coffee, walnut and raisins.
Finish
Astringent with green wood and the sulphur lingering.
Comment
It’s interesting to note that the sulphur on the palate isn’t really noticeable on the nose.
