Nose: Freshly ground coffee, blackcurrants, white grape juice, prune juice and raisins.
Palate: Pomegranate juice, black overripe banana, black cherry and dark chocolate. This is a developed palate.
Finish: Cinnamon, more dark chocolate and plenty of oak. Very dry and slightly bitter.
Comment: Lots of oak here, maybe a touch too old.

Taster
Nose: Crisp, clean and focused. Edgy rye, grainy tannins, manure, dried grass and coffee. Intense and visceral. Just a soupçon of toffeed oak and sweet corn notes.
Palate: Crisp and grainy with earthy, edgy rye spices and voluptuous corn notes. The rye holds out before the corny onslaught! Coffee, toffee, brittle spices, honey, demerara sugar. Herbal notes appear.
Finish: Long and mouth-watering. You have got to love that spicy rye nip which keeps the oak and corn in check. Whoa...a bitter finale though!
Comment: Maybe a little on the bitter side for some but I loved it!
Score: 8.9
