Nose

Chewy dates and toffee. Old leather and polished oak. Bread and butter pudding with raisins. Hints of red grape and cantaloupe melon. Crystallised ginger and bitter chocolatey coffee.

Palate

A burst of tropical fruit — pineapple, papaya, guava, more melon — with fresh mint and coconut water. Then turning to caramelised pineapple, dark chocolate brownie, and hints of tobacco.

Finish

Long. Baking spice, grippy tannins, and finally burnt caramel.

Revealed lovely layers and nice characteristics of ageing.
